dying poinsettia

I rec'd a beautiful whitish yellow flowered poinsettia plant from a
friend delivered by a florist.  After 3 days, it started to loose its
leaves and now, one week later, all the leaves have fallen off.  There
are a few bugs laying on the table beneath the plant. Does anyone know
what may have caused it to die?  Do you think I should take it to the
florist for a replacement?  Do they usually do that? Thanks for help.
