Where to find quillworts, Isoetacea?

I have found quillworts at the edge of a lake in shallow water. To
identify them, look for swollen bases on each of the leaves. That is
where the sporangia form. Furthermore, the leaves are microphylls, so
they will not have prominent parallel veins like grasses. The plants
actually resemble onions more than they do grasses.
