cytoplasmic inheritance in plants

I just received the following intriguing statement from someone who
looked into this question for me. I don't have an authoritative source
for it, though:

In one example in bananas (Musa acuminata) chloroplasts can be
inherited maternally while mitochondria demonstrate paternal
inheritance.

Now that's cool!
