Is there anything BAD about letting ivy grow up your outside walls?

Hey, there is nothing wrong about letting Ivy growing on the 
wall. What ever you do keep it off of anything wood. Brick 
is okay, but keep it cut 6 to 12 inches away from the wood 
and like any plant you will have to maintain it( prune ) at 
this level. Knowing all plants have moisture and knowing 
wood and moisture do not agree with each other.
