Plant Biologist

The Department of Biological Sciences at Plattsburgh State University of
New York invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor
position in Plant Biology for the 2000-2001 Academic year.  The position
is expected to begin on August 27, 2001. Responsibilities include:
Teaching a non-majors course in general biology and developing plant
biology courses to support departmental programs. Research collaboration
opportunities exist with faculty in the Center for Earth and
Environmental Science and the Lake Champlain Research Institute.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree with a broad background in organismal
plant biology is required. The candidate must be committed to excellence
in undergraduate teaching and should have a strong, field-based research
program suitable for undergraduate participation.

Salary: $38,000-43,000, dependent on qualifications and experience, with

Plattsburgh SUNY is located on the shore of Lake Champlain and the edge
of the Adirondack Park in the northeast corner of  New York State.  It
