Dear Plant-ed folks:
What kind of commercial growing mix do you use for most plants in your
teaching collection or greenhouse? What type do you specifically recommend
for Arabidopsis? In graduate school I mixed my own with equal parts
perlite, vermiculite and peat moss. At my post-doc we used metromix 200.
I've already got an order in with a local greenhouse who said they had
metromix 200 and now they say they can't get it! I'd be interested in
hearing of any advantages for using commercial mixes and which ones are
good.
Roxanne
