Tenure Track Position in Neurobiology and Limited Term Appointments
in Plant and Animal Biology

	The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking applications for
one tenure track position in Neurobiology at the rank of Assistant
Professor and two one year limited term appointments in Plant Biology and
in Animal Biology. All positions are expected to be filled by August 31,
2000 subject to final budgetary approval. A Ph.D. degree is required for
all positions and postdoctoral training or equivalent experience is
required for the Neurobiology appointment. Teaching experience is an asset.
	For the Neurobiology position, research expertise in animal
behaviour, neuroethology and/or molecular biology is preferred. The
successful applicant would be expected to teach undergraduate courses in
neurobiology at the third and fourth year levels as well as contributing to
core Biology courses. The establishment of a strong externally funded
research program with supervision of undergraduate and graduate students is
	The successful applicant for the Plant Biology term appointment
will be expected to teach three half courses in introductory plant biology,
plant physiology and community ecology. The successful applicant for the
Animal Biology term appointment will be expected to teach a half course in
introductory animal biology, and two half courses from a selection of
vertebrate or invertebrate biology offerings. Supervision of Honours thesis
students is also expected.
	Review of applications will begin on May 31, 2000 and continue
until suitable candidates have been identified. Interested candidates
