Many years ago i purchased such material from Edmund Scientific.
They had several versions, each changing temperature over a different
range. It was a fairly effective demonstration. You can compare
narrow and broad leaves, dissected leaves, etc. I think these are
liquid crystal materials, of the sort used in the fever thermometers
you stick on your forehead.
