I read the newsgroup on a newserver via Outlook Express so it is easy
to ignore the spam. I just don't open spam messages. If your ISP has a
newserver and carries bionet.plants.education, you can type the
newsgroup address in your browser, then make it a bookmark for easy
access. The form is news://NEWSERVER ADDRESS/bionet.plants.education
You can also read messages at free newsgroup sites such as google.com
and mailandnews.com.
I would not like to see the archives lost as I often find them very
useful to locate posts from the past. I guess google.com has most of
them archived, assuming google.com sticks around. Google.com
apparently bought the newsgroup archives from the defunct
dejanews.com.
