pesticide free potting soil

Dear Plant-ed folks:

I have some colleagues in chemistry that want to grow some carrots and
potatoes in a pesticide free environment. Do you know if there are any
potting soils that are pesticide free? I thought of mixing up our own
from vermiculite, perlite and peat moss but then there's question about
the exposure of the peat moss to pesticide. They can test the soil
themselves, but it would save some time and effort if pesticide free
potting soil is available.
