The Department of Crop Science, University of Guelph, Canada is
advertising the following two positions (and I finally learned the
magic words to read them into my editor correctly):

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
DEPARTMENT OF CROP SCIENCE
UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - OILSEED BREEDER
The Department of Crop Science at the University of Guelph
invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at
the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Oilseed Breeding.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree. Initially, research will
involve canola breeding and the successful candidate will later
assume responsibility for the soybean breeding program.
Excellent laboratory, controlled environment and field research
facilities are available. Candidates will be expected to develop
a productive research program, supervise graduate students, and
have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate courses in
Plant Breeding and Genetics. A knowledge of molecular genetics
would be an asset. Salary will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience.

NSERC Women's Faculty Award
The Department of Crop Science, University of Guelph wishes to
nominate an outstanding female candidate for this NSERC Award.
Candidates must have completed their Ph.D. no longer than five
years prior to the application date. Areas of expertise of
particular interest include agroecology, corn breeding and
genetics, cereal biotechnology, crop cytogenetics and soybean
breeding and genetics.
It is anticipated the successful candidate will be appointed to a
tenure track position. The Department has excellent field,
laboratory and controlled-environment facilites for research,
including a recently completed facility for transgenic plants.
There also are numerous opportunities for research collaborations
on campus with other nearby research-intensive universities,
government research organizations and companies.
