SDS, detergents, Agro and cell permeability?

Dear netters,

I want to increase the permeability of plant cell membranes, to increase the
efficiency of Agrobact mediated transformation.  What conc. of detergent, SDS
or other, should I use to increase the permeability (and wetting with the 
bacteria in solution) but not kill or lyse the cells?

I was thinking of 0.001 to 0.0001% SDS.  ANY REFERENCES or INFO will be greatky
appreciated.
