                    Plant Developmental Biologist 

      The Department of Biology at the University of Northern Iowa invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position (Ph.D.),
especially from minority, women, Vietnam-era veteran or disabled scientists,
effective August 1994.

     The individual will have primary responsibility for upper division 
courses in plant developmental biology, anatomy and morphology, and will 
participate in the general biology and University General Education courses.  
The department expects effectiveness in both teaching and research.  
Applicants' research programs, employing modern approaches to important
questions in plant developmental biology, should invite participation by
graduate (M.A.) and undergraduate students.  Teaching and/or postdoctoral
research experience is preferred.  Salary is competitive and commensurate with
experience and qualifications.
