Cd/H abstract...some comments

Dear David,
Thomas Bjorkman asked about other metals being transpoted by your
antiport, and you mentioned that you are checking copper, nickel
and calcium.  What about Zn and Hg, since these are more closely
electrochemically related to Cd?  Any guesses about what happens
to the metal ions once inside the tonoplast?  Chelation by metallo-
thionein or phytochelatins?
