Loss of coloniality by algae in culture

I have observed this same phenomena in Pandorina and Eudorina.  I have
obtained many strains from the UTEX collection which have lost their
normal morphology.  We are experimenting with ways to restore the normal
colonial form in my lab, but I have no success with the experiments to
report.
