Bob Villas and painting

My wife and I just watched an amazing Bob Villas show in which he 
displayed some of the painting techniques used in a Chicago restoration.  
One of them involved a technique that would give any surface the 
appearance of old (greenish) copper sheathing. Fascinating!

Does anyone know of a book which describes these special techniques.  The 
painter on the show said they are not that hard to learn.
