In Re: sugar maple germination
In response to the inquiry about germination of sugar maple seeds, a query
last June about germinating Japanese Maple Tree seeds elicited a response
from Gerry Roe in Oregon.
He addressed the question of maturation, cold treatment, and subsequent
planting.
He recommended waiting for the seeds to fall from the trees, then applying
a stratification treatment of a few months of cold, followed by planting in
potting mix which is covered with sand.
Perhaps he will respond to this inquiry.
