PRESETTLEMENT FOREST-SEEK

At the conference of the Society for Ecological Restoration this summer, 
which was held in Lansing, MI, Mike Austin of the Michigan DNR did a 
presentation of the work he's doing to map presettlement vegetation using 
precisely this data set. The maps are pretty extensive -- nearly all of 
Michigan should be done by the end of the year -- and they look 
fabulous.
