I don't know a lot about orchids, but I believe they only bloom once a year anyway. I recently bought two from a local grower and asked them the same question. They offer a service where they will take the plant back after the blooms drop and board it (for a nominal fee of $1.50 per month) until it blooms again, which they said would be 10-12 months.
