Who was botanical author "Angl."?

[Prof.Dr.Klaus Peper]

Camellia japonica longifolia is reported in the International Register
as being red, according to my sources it is white.

Now I found in a 1829 book the citation:
>>C. j. longifolia Angl.<<,
where Angl. is the describing author.

But who is Angl.? I looked at:
gopher//mobot.mobot.org:70/11/.Author
where he or she is not known.

Has somebody an idea?
