Job Description
Plant Molecular Biologist

Seeking an experienced molecular biologist (Ph.D. or masters level), with
interest in plant molecular biology to join an exciting and successful
Regulatory Science team.  Prefer person with extensive experience in
characterizing DNA integrated into genetically engineered plants or
experience in genomic mapping using Southern blots and PCR.  This person
will be responsible for defining the molecular structure of DNA introduced
into plants (insert number, complexity and sequence), particularly monocot
plants transformed by particle gun bombardment.  This individual will join
a world-class plant biotechnology organization that has recently gained the
first EPA approval ever for a genetically engineered pesticidal plant.
Several other plant biotechnology products have also recently completed the
regulatory process.  Good oral and written communication and supervisory
skills are essential.  We seek a person with experience or interest in
leading a mini-team of molecular biologists responsible for a variety of
genetically engineered crop plants.  There is potential for involvement in
molecular breeding and collaborations with academic laboratories.  This
position is open immediately.  The salary will be commensurate with
experience and training.
