We have quite a weedy crop of 4 O'clocks growing around the edges of our garden, and I have noticed that some of them show quite striking variegation in the coloring of the petals of some of the flowers. Has anyone done any research on this effect? It looks a sort of like the kind of clonal inactivation that might be seen due to a transposon. Sincerely, Bruce Hubbard
