Concerning blackberry (Rubus fruticosus), I can tell you that the capacity 
of germination of seeds is improved by passing through the birds gut. 
Following the dispersal, the seeds usually germinate in May-June, but 
about 20 months after the fruit has fallen. Indeed, there is a dormancy 
period in blackberry seeds, and some of them can germinate many years after
