botany/ethnobotany field course

The Tropical Science enter in San Jose Costa Rica will be sponsoring a 
field course on identification of Neotropical trees from June 24 to July 
12, 1996. Students will spend one week in the cloud forest, one in the 
dry forest, and one in the lowland rain forest learning how to identify 
70 families by vegetative characteristics based on the system developed 
by Holdridge and refined  by Gentry. The course is appropriate for 
everyone from college botany students to midcareer professionals.
