FAQ on Japanese Maples????

As a rule, deciduous plants (shrubs, trees, and vines) are not good
choices for house plants, just as you were told.  They are adapted to
seasonal changes in temperature that are absent indoors.

I understand that you like maples, but be assured that you would not be
happy with the results of attempting to grow them indoors.
