Palm tree sensitivity to photoperiod

I have a number of palm trees of various ages in my landscape that are 
located near porch lights and a street light.  My question is:  Are palms 
sensitive to photoperiod extensions provided by such light sources?  
What (if any) are the effects of photoperiod changes on morphology and 
reproduction?  In nature, they do not undergo long photoperiod shifts 
like plants of latitudes farther from the equator.  Any advice would be 
greatly appreciated.
