Rhizoctonia infestation (?)

Dear All,
        I am looking for a successful method to infct plants via the soil
with Rhizoctonia.  That is to say I don't wish to infect the plants
directly but to infect the soil first.  I have tried the Baker and Cook
method by placing agar plugs in the soil but couldn't induce infection.

        All references/suggestions are most welcome
