African violets produce anthocyanidin-3-rutinoside-5-glucosides (see
Khokar et al., HortScience 17: 810-811, 1982). Blue-flowered cultivars
contain malvidin-3-rutinoside-5-glucoside; red/pink flowers contain
peonidin-3-rutinoside-5-glucoside and/or
pelargonidin-3-rutinoside-5-glucoside.
