Q: extending life of wooden planter?

I don't recall if I answered or not, but I suggest lining the boxes with 6
mil weight black plastic, and putting tiny pinholes in the bottom plastic,
for water drainage, --hole too small for even ants to get in.  REAL soil
is so full of soil organisms that no wood can stand up to it for long. The
plastic will last years.
