What is word for 'leechie' (Hindi - fruit) in English?

According to my dictionary, the word derives from the Cantonese lai chi 
(meaning unknown). All the English names for it are transliterations of 
the original, including litchi, lechia, leachea, letchee, lichee, 
lychee and leechee.
