The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Griffith University
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia is offering PhD Scholarships in
ecotourism, engineering and information technology.
Applied Science
Two 3 year scholarships in:
· environmental chemistry plant ecology
· monitoring and management ecotourism and associated areas
of tourism impacts
Engineering
Two 3 year engineering scholarships. These range from full-scale
laboratory experiments to computer applications in the following
research areas:
· structural engineering construction management
· geotechnical engineering construction materials
Information Technology
Four 3 year scholarships in the application of information technology
covering the areas of:
· alternative software reliability segmentation and feature
extraction techniques
· security of computer networks network multimedia and
product and process
modelling for multimedia
All scholarships are at the 1996 APAWS rate (AU$15,364), with an
additional AU$5,000 per year available for outstanding candidates.
Successful applicants must have completed an honours degree at upper 2A
standard, or masters degree or equivalent standing. Most scholarships
provide a living allowance and assistance with relocation costs, but do
not pay tuition fees.
