On a recent hike a friend and I found some huckleberries and started eating
them. This sparked a debate. She thought that by eating the berries we
were helping the plant to be more successful; that it would produce more
berried next season. I thought that we were reducing its success by
removing its reproductive organs.

Who's right?

Maybe that plant would be more fruitfull next year, but the species would
be less?
