China Doll needs help

Hello,

I have a China doll, which is a fairly fragile plant that seems to be
VERY sensitive to its environment. I have lived in a few different
college dorms over the years and my China Doll has done better in some
rooms than others. I cannot pinpoint just what kind of environment it
likes best though.

My biggest problem is that it will do well, experiencing periods of good
growth, then the leaves and sometimes a whole "branch" will turn yellow
and fall off. consequently I have what looks like a very small tree
with a very slender trunk. Can anyone advise me on the best way to care
for this poor houseplant?

Thanks.
