You can't repot it and you can't bear to se it die...hmmm put us in a
quandary.

Try drilling at least 5 holes in the bottom. It may have sour soil from
all the stagnant water, and it may have an accummulatiuon of salts as
well. You may need to flush the salts out. Put it in a tub where you can
soak the pot (after drilling the holes underneath), then lift it out and
let it drain. Empty the tub and put fresh water in (as pure as
possible). Then soak it and repeat this [procedure a few times.
Hopefully you can leach the contaminants out...but don't hold your hopes
out too much.

You have to not keep the plant wet...only water when the soil and inch
below surface is barely dry. Periodically leach out accumulated salts by
doing the procedure I describe above.....perhaps once every 3 months or
so.

You may also have rotted roots. Besides adjusting the watering schedule
like I mentioned, if it isn't already too late, you may wish to add an
anti-fungal drench for control of Pythium or Phytophtora, which flourish
in hot and wet soil conditions. I can't suggest a product, because I
have no ida what is available to the consumer in Singapore.

Good luck.
