HYDROPONICS CHALLENGE : my DIY system RULES !!!

So what's the challenge ... To actually make this proposed system work? 
 That seems to be too great for me.  How does anyone make an ebb&flow 
work with holes poked in the intake tube????  Maybe the challenge is to 
run it without an overflow drain or to see how long a kiddie pool will 
last as a resevoir (not long I bet)!  Why do continue posting the same, 
tired, crappy info.?
