Do plants "sleep"?

Many plants have "sleep movements" called nictonasty. The legumes are
especially prone to have them (they have a special sort of hinge at the
top and bottom of their leaf stalks that allows them to close their
leaves at night. Those who have been to the tropical rainforest will
attest that in the early evening when you are in the forest and it
suddenly gets very bright, this is the time to get out of the forest
because the sun is going down and the legume trees in the canopy have
closed their leaves.
