A friend asked if I knew anything about Mashka's Sweet Wort, a plant described by Tolstoy in War and Peace(apparently French soldiers ate this plant and became ill). I searched the UC Berkeley Library without success. Does anyone know the plant? -- Jerry Heverly, Oakland, CA
