     RESEARCH MANAGER. Insect Resistance - Crop Protection.
     (Job#CP-703). A Research Manager is needed in the area of
     insect resistance management and development of resistance
     management strategies for use with transgenic crops,
     especially corn. This scientist will work closely with
     internal researchers, external collaborators, and government
     agencies to implement resistance management programs. The
     successful candidate will develop programs to ensure
     compliance with EPA registration requirements; develop
     strategies to monitor resistance development in target insect
     species; and help develop strategies to prevent/delay the
     development of insects resistant to the active component of
     the transgenic crops(s). Participation in research to develop
     other insect resistant transgenic crops is expected. Minimum
     requirements are a PhD and 2 years experience or a MS degree
     and 5 years practical experience with transgenic crops.
     Candidates must have experience with integrated pest
     management and transgenic crops engineered for resistance to
     insect pests. Experience with the EPA and registration of
     transgenic crops is desired. Other qualifications include
     experience with insect resistant transgenic crops; ability to
     work in both laboratory and field settings; familiar with
     entomology research and integrated pest management practices.
     Experience with resistance management strategies, especially
     pertaining to Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxins is also
     desired.
