I have recently tried to purify 6xhis tagged recombinant proteins from Nicotiana benthamiana.Western blots of my control plants show the large rubisco subunits also bind Ni as if they contained polyhistidine sequences. Does anyone have any info on this? Are there some proven affinity tags which work in purifying foreign proteins in plants? Thanks
