need help hybridizing

No pun intended.
    I'm working on hybridizing several distant varities of (respectively)
cucurbits (cantalope, squash, and cucumber), solanaceae (mostly peppers)
and moraceae (tapa berries, hops and mulberries)
    Does anyone know of internet sources for hybridizing? The search
engines turn up reams of unrelated material (hybrid computers for example)
Failing that, what are the best books on distance hybridizing? Or is an
attempt at cell fusion maybe easier?
