how to play with suberized cells for TEM

Hi:
I am currently working with onion roots for ultrastructural properties.
In the mature zone of the root, the epidermis and exodermis (hypodermis)
have suberin depositions in the cell walls, which is a big problem for
both fixation and resin infiltration since the suberized walls are
impermeable to water and solutes. Do you have any experience with this
problem? Any of your ideas would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Fengshan Ma
