Infared Light--Does it grow plants?

Hi,
Infrared light is not sufficient for photosynthetic action. See action
spectrum of a chloroplast, leaf. Optimum regions are red and blue, but all
visible region contributes because of several effects (i.e. carotenoids).
Infrared light has other functions like signaling for seeds, etc . . . . . .
