non chemical way to treat house plants

I hate to raise this but --- if the "little white bugs" were not 
actually attacking the plant they might well be harmless little 
collembola (really cute under the microscope if you can con them into 
staying still !!!).
They are part of the great gaia system - leave them alone. Learn to live 
with them and you might (just) learn to live with the rest of the human 
race.

  NOW THERE IS A REALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM.
