The correct name is Sequoiadendron giganteum, in English the giant
red wood or big tree.

There is almost 150 years experience of growing this tree in Europe
and almost any book on growing conifers (e.g. by Gerd Krussmann,
Manual of cultivated conifers - there is a German edition - will
provide information).

It does prefer moist, well-drained soil, high humidity/rainfall, cool
cummers and mild winters, so it thrives in Ireland, Britain and
places with similar climate. Zone H2 according to the European Garden Flora.
