DEKALB Genetics Corporation, the fastest growing agricultural seed company in 
the U.S., has an opening for an independent PhD level scientist in the area 
of PLANT GENE EXPRESSION.

The successful candidate will join the Agronomic Traits Program of DEKALB's 
biotechnology research facility in Mystic, CT, a scenic shoreline community 
on Long Island Sound.

The research focus of the position will be aimed towards understanding and 
manipulating factors that affect the expression of transgenes in plants, 
identifying suitable promoters and enhancers, and employing this technology 
in the development of transgenic plant products.  Other responsibilities may 
include cloning agronomically important genes.  Candidates should have a 
Ph.D. in a relevant biological science, more than three years experience in 
plant molecular biology and demonstrated expertise in the area of plant gene 
expression.  Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
