Dear Norbett

It may have caught some disease from the peat or the mere shock of repotting it
may have caused the problem. 
Tap wateralso  brings certain death to all carniverous plants. Always use
rainwater.
Carniverous  plants do die back in the fall during their dormant period but if
what happened to your plant happened quickly then it sounds a bit terminal to
me.
