Help for my plants!

     I have spider plants that spend the summer outdoors and do fine
without me doing ANYTHING. When I bring them inside in the fall, I just
KILL them. All I did is water them once. They have plenty of water, but
are turning brown and wilting. I also have phila's that stay in year
round, but they seam to be turning yellow too.
     If anyone has any idea whats going on with my plants, please help
me. I live in the mid atlantic states near the ocean.
