Peace Lily

Wife was given a Peace Lilly ....  brought it home and it is not doing
well after about 5 or 6 days. We had been told to put it in a sunny
area in our home.... and did so although none of our windows really
has a lot of sunlight coming through it. 
Leaves seem to be turning a bit yellow... mostly bottom leaves....

Any suggestions?  Any tips on caring for this type plant?
