I think it must be. Unfortunately I have no good US floras to hand to 
check that in.

Since posting my earlier reply, I have dug further and also found 
"Lion's Tail" (and "Lion's Ear") applied to true Motherwort, Leonorus 
cardiaca. And, just to make the muddle even more complete, have found 
"Lion's ear" applied to Leonotis leonurus. I think one just tosses a 
coin.  8-)
