teen horticulture camps

The American Association of Botanical Gardens and Arboreta publishes a
yearly list of available internships in horticulture and
floriculture.  Most are for college students, but there might be a few
summer programs suitable for a high school student.

You might also check with a local botanic garden or arboretum and ask
if they would accept a volunteer.  Free help is hard to turn down, and
a helper who *wants* to learn is a joy.
